WHAT IS
SAND-ETCHING?

Sand-etching (or sand-blasting) is the proceess where-by compressed air is mixed with an abrasive and forced throught the nozzle of a gun. The product to be etched is first covered in a one-time use mask (or stencil) - in our case, we use photo-resist for maximum details. The exposed areas of the mask are "roughed up" by the abrasive, whilst the protected areas remain untouched. The resulting image is permenantly engrained on the surface of the product.
Though used primarily for glass, sand-etching can be used to great effect on many different surfaces.
